Members of the public were invited to submit nominations for a woman that they consider phenomenal. And Jocelyn van der Ross won the award for Phenomenal Woman Entrepreneurs.

Green Spot Recycling - Winner of Top Women in Recycling
Jocelyn Van Der Ross
Franschhoek -based buyback centre Green Spot Recycling has overcome the odds, with owner Jocelyn Van Der Ross starting from scratch three times following devastating fires.
"I moved to Franschhoek in 2004. When I first arrived, I asked myself: What can I do to make a difference that no one else is doing? I saw all the wine bottles and started my recycling business going through bins" as said by Jocelyn.
She started with two employees, and today has 20 staff collecting and sorting recyclables, buying recyclables from three waste pickers. Green Spot Recycling now collects over six tonnes of PET plastic bottles a month.
As part of receiving this award Green Spot Recycling was donated two Trailers as well as a container sponsored by PETCO (as seen below in the photo gallery). We are extremely grateful to all partnering sponsorships awarding Green Sport Recycling for trying our best to make a difference within our community as well as in the environment and to inspire others to do the same.
